Manifestations of the archetypal lover in Ahmad Reza Ahmadi’s poems

Abstract

Ahmadreza Ahmadi is a modernist poet and the most prominent figure of the “New Wave” literary and artistic movement in Iran. His works were formed after decades of efforts to establish a kind of modernism in Iran. One of the remarkable features of Ahmadi’s new poems is the dominance of the unconscious mind, especially in the area of ​​archetypes. In Ahmadi’s poetry, the anima often appears in the position of the beloved. This research, relying on mythological and archetypal concepts and using a descriptive-analytical method based on Ahmadreza Ahmadi’s romances, seeks to answer the fundamental question: based on what characteristics can we claim that the beloved in some of Ahmadi’s poems is an archetypal beloved? And it attempts to examine the manifestations of the archetypal woman in his poetry. The findings of the research indicate the presence of a lover who does not have the characteristics of ordinary people, who does things that are against the norm and sometimes a violation of the norm, and whose beauty is not described like the beauty of the long-standing lover of Persian poetry.
