Study the Narration Structure of two Tales from the Lyric Story of “Yousef and Zoleikh”

“Yousef and Zoleikh” is a story which has had aN influential realization in Persian literature. In addition to allusions, and different literary figures which are present in the text, this story has been narrated in various and colourful ways so that it has been translated into an independent ballad.
Investigations show that although main characters and events are the same in different narrations, they are significantly different regarding structure, content, and theme.
      The present study attempts to compare and contrast two tales of this story one affiliated to Aboulghasem Ferdowsi, and the other to Nour-al-din Abdurrahman Jami so as to discover differences and similarities regarding narration format and structure.
      Jami’s “Yousef and Zoleikh” contains fewer redundant events, contradictory happenings, and vague situations and seems to be more structured and complete in comparison with that of Ferdowsi in which those factors are more frequent; therefore, that of Jami better interests and motivates the reader to follow the story to the end.
