According to some elites` and scholar's` ideas " the commitment in art" in Europe`s 19th century came along with " art for art sake" school, and it was introduced by several philosophers and literate men who were in favor of useful art. Jean Paul Sartre French writer and philosopher was the founder of committed literature in 20th century.
But can we offer a united definition about committed literature? And considering its western root can we explore Hafiz poems in committed poem?
In this survey study, the author tries to work on some scholars opinion and to find out whether there is any commitment in Hafiz and Hugo`s poems. To accomplish such a thing , the author indicates the definition of literature, committed poem and its historical survey.
The author also works on scholars and critics view points on committed literature. In the second part, giving a variety of commitment in Hafiz and Hugo`s poem author tries to offer some related evidence.
